Public Appearance on April 29

Rusty Jeffers appeared in an event held by a health food store in Phoenix, AZ. Here are some photos from that event (Jay Cutler was also there):

The reason why Rusty won't do Colorado Pro

Rusty Jeffers sent out a message to the bullein board of "GetBig" to explain the reason why he would not do the Colorado Pro:

"I just posted to the other thread all about what I'm about and all the other crap..I've thought about a lot of this, but my decision not to compete wasn't just airfare and hotel..I'm not homeless for gods sake!!! I needed to be realistic about how much money it takes to prepare for a show...not the travel. I figured with money won from the Masters I would do the Colorado...but after coming home with only an "I love NY" t-shirt, I have financial obligations. There is no way to do the show without getting into debt and with the way judging is going...I don't owe my financial future to people who don't appreciate symmetry and balance. I guess right now I'm just going "what the f()*^&^?Huh

I appreciate all of everyones kind words and encouragement, it means a LOT. But right now, I'm just going to regroup and figure out what show will be next... I'm down but NOT OUT!!!!

By the way, Bob is a nice guy! He's been cool with me. Nuff said on that.

Rusty"

It's a pity that Rusty won't do the Colorado Pro due to his financial commitment. He deserved a place in the Masters Pro and got the money to finance the Colorado. So, we better go to his website and buy his stuff and help finance Rusty to do more competition shows! We love to see him on stage. He has the muscle. He has the symmetry. He has the spirit in bodybuilding. He is a nice guy worthy of our support!

Rusty Jeffers talked publicly about his past model career on the boards of "Getbig.com"

Rusty posted a message to "GetBig" bulletin boards about his past model career. Here is the message:

"Wow!! I rarely read much on boards, but this one I HAVE to reply to!!!

First, I have to thank all of you for your kind words and acknowledgements of my physique. I work extremely hard to stay balanced and symmetrical...that's what I started training for..for some reason I thought it was important..? I wouldn't trade physiques with anyone at that show, nor anything else.. so secondly I'd like to comment on the porn stuff..

I worked for Colt Studios for 10 years, BUT... I never ever ever did anything GAY or never in my entire career ever had any photos/videos or anything else with another man OR woman.... I have probably thousands of modeling photos, all nudes, but you will never ever find anything GAY.

I am married, have a child and am with the same woman since 1989. Our decision to model in the first place was to finance shows and compete more often than I could afford to with a regular job, like construction. (which I was doing at the time) My wife was also present at many of the shoots and everyone at the old Colt Studios, not to be confused with the new Colt Studios, which is now is a different company. Everybody had their opinions as to what's right and wrong, but wrong is something I have to remember and I never did anything that would come back at me negatively... look at any of my modeling shots and there's nothing I consider wrong, immoral, or gay.

I don't do muscle worship or private modeling sessions either, many pros do... My photos are were marketed to the gay community because they like to see naked muscular men.... women don't buy much... we tried!! Anyway to the guy who said I'm 8"..... you're a little short!!! I"ve got photos to prove it, do YOU???

ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

Being a bodybuilder who loves competing on stage is not easy! I respect what Rusty has done. They are artistic and beautiful. He deserves more respect from the bodybuilding field.

Rusty Jeffers thanked all his friends and fans

Rusty posted a message to his Yahoo! group to thanked all the kinds words from his friends and fans. Here is the extract:

" Hey everybody!

I want to thank everyone for your awesome emails and extremely kind words...I am very humbled to be spoken to by people all over the world and here in my backyard..I worked very very very hard for this
show, had two setbacks (one injury and one financial)in the last two weeks which kept me from quite a bit of leg training and too much working, to come in where I'd like....I don't want to make any excuses so I won't get into that. No matter,...I just want to tell each and everyone of you how much I appreciate YOU, and yes, I will compete again and WILL be better prepared financially for the next one, but I think I did fairly well on the dime!!!

I came home to 195 emails between 3 email accounts and yesterday I was down to a "meager" 65 emails...I answered 90% of them personally. Francy did the uploading of photos and tried to get them out all over the place...major bulletin boards, friends, etc. I appreciate the new friends I've made here and the ones I met in New York...I wish more of you would've introduced yourselves!!!

.............As for the Colorado Pro, there is no possible way for me to do it. The airfare and hotel are the least of my concerns financially. There is much more to it and I don't think it's appropriate for me to get into all that. I do appreciate the thoughts of helping me, but just wish on a stay, say a prayer, tell your local NPC promotor to hire me for guest posings...heh heh a little self promotion there..

Thanks one and all, I am very honored to have people interested in my career and my hard work!!!

your bud,

Rusty"

Rusty Jeffers speaks after the Controversial Placing in the Masters Pro World 2006

Rusty Jeffers posted a message to Milos' bulletin board after his very controversial placing in the Masters Pro World 2006. Many members in different bulletin boards agreed that Rusty should have been at least in the top 5 or even 3. Here is what Rusty said after the show:

"All I can say is that I'm overwhelmed by the incredible kindness shown to me on this site!!!! I appreciate all the kind words from everyone, and Milos, your words take the sting off of the show.I don't have words for how I feel today...

If balance, symmetry, proportion, and having some skill as a poser, I can only wonder what bodybuilding judging is about...when I didn't get a call for the top 5, I knew they didnt' want me to stand next to Bob or anyone in the top 5 so I couldn't give them a run for their money as I can only guess...predetermined choices..?? I guess I'm out of the loop...considering I've never said a bad word to anyone in the sport, I can only imagine the rumor mill must work overtime...and by the way, if this interests anyone about my former modeling days... at a prior check in at a show unmentionable...two of the judges asked if I had any of my old nudie calenders coming out this year, so I think the nude posing never hurt me...not like this show did!!!

I busted my ass, maybe peaked a couple of days early, but soft...NOT. I'll be sharper next time, I don't know when THAT will be, but considering I pay my own way to these things, it might take a while to save up again.

OK!! Got that off my chest...again, thanks to everyones comments, it means more than I can express. I'll post a couple of pics from SoCal Photographer and my wife later this evening.

Rusty has been a Natural Bodybuilder!

Rusty talked about steroids and said that he had been a natural bodybuilder for 10 years! Here is the abstract of his message to his Yahoo! Group:

"Steroids are a term "Jack Average" knows....if there was a graph 10' long of all tLinkhe things you can use to improve your physique, legal or not, steroids would be about 1' long. "Jack Average" my term for people looking in from the outside of whatever situation, in this case bodybuilding, needs to know that...what anyone uses is their personal decision.

I am at my peak physically, mentally and spiritually. I have used unreal amounts of vitamins from my teen years to today, some with success and some knowing I just pissed my money away...but it is all worth it to me in my quest. Don't be fooled by what you hear in the media about steroids...they never have and never will make you a champion, nor will they "give you" anything you don't bust your ass to get...wouldn't everyone look great if they at least tried, or strived to their greatest ability to achieve their goals?? I trained for about 10 years as a "Natural" bodybuilder, and yes, most in those contests are NOT natural...sorry, the truth. When a beginner (someone with less tha n 5 years of serious training) uses any drug, they get the usual water bloat, terrible temper, acne and size gain, they go off and they go back to where they were....In between shows or financial constraint, pros go off of whatever they choose..NONE of them shrink back to regular size..............I've been training since I was 14...and never taken much time off except for shoulder surgery a few years ago...I never shrunk, got a little smooth, which makes you look smaller, and visa versa when you get lean you look HUGE since you can see all the detail...I"ve lost 15 lbs for this show and everyone keeps going on about how much I"ve grown...kind of funny, but I"m used to it. I've actually gone down in size and weight, but when you see the definition, you look larger because everything is right in front of your eyes.

The bodybuilding lifestyle is extremely healthy. I eat chicken, meat, vegetables, nothing canned, boxed, fried, no butter, milk or crap...I like to eat healthy and it shows...I got a GREAT compliment tonight about my skin...and whether or not anyone uses any drugs, you have to lead a healthy lifestyle in order to NOT have problems down the road....longevity is the goal and why would anyone jeopordize themselves on some risky thing???? There are many risky things to take and some which have virtually not side effects...it's how you live your life....

I have several friends who are pros and do lots of recreational drugs...some are dead, burned out, in jail etc...I don't know any pros who are sick from using bodybuilding related drugs...that is a key element for most to know...."

I think this is why Rusty's physique is so symmetrical and beautiful.

Rusty Jeffers - Shoulder Surgeries

Rusty talked about his shoulder surgeries and quads training in Yahoo! group:

"My shoulder surgery was from a car wreck where I rear ended a truck and my arm was locked on the steering wheel, which tore part of the bicep tendon and bits of the rotator cuff..unrelated to training...,2nd shoulder surgery was an impingement, also unrelated to training, the 3rd was to reattach rotator cuff that was completely torn, due to a scuffle at a nightclub. Probably better to stay away from nightclubs while training!!! ha ha ha As for quads, I believe in the overload technique 20 to 25 rep ranges usually do the trick for me. That stimulates the muscle to grow more than just brute strength..some people get results off of lower rep ranges, I sometimes cycle rep ranges so I don't go as high as twenty the lowest I go is twelve anythign below that I just don't think it works as well because it doesn't stimulate the muscle enough...that's for me anyway...I've gone heavy on squats with 635 lbs for 8 reps and all I felt was hips, knees and lower back overload...I get a much better burn from heavy, but high reps.
Hope this helps...as for honoring God, he doesn't care what you do on this earth, he only cares how you know his son!!
Rusty"
