Rusty Jeffers - Repetitions

Rusty Jeffers posted his comments on the best repetitions for muscle growth onto the forum of Bodybuilding.com. Here is the content of his message:

"I cycle my rep ranges all the time, for instance I do more reps in a workout, and less another time. It depends on what I'm doing and feeling. The 5 x 5 is just for a basic off season heavy training. The 12 -20 rep range I use for longer periods of time than I do the 5 x 5 because my joints can only take so much of that. We're doing high rep workouts now with sets of 50-and 100 reps on leg presses and we do lunges for time, example: a 5 minute set of lunges, you just lunge for 5 minutes straight, and of course you have to use a moderate weight to do that. Same thing with squats a 5 minute set...put 135lbs on the bar and just go. Usually as a finishing movement........"
